Caution should be used. Although herbal remedies are safer than medical drugs, in most cases, there are some herbs that can not be abused without harmful effects. Care should be taken not to administer without supervision of a qualified nutritionist counselor. Some herbs that are good in one case, may not be right for a similar case with a few small differences. Therefore, if you do not know the effects of feeding a specific herb, caution should be taken. *Notes: You may notice that we have indicated the feeding of most of these combinations in whole oats. We are an advocate of the whole oat. Among the many great qualities of the whole oat are, the fact that they start in the mouth, with the teeth and gums, by helping to keep the hooks, corners and sharp edges broken off of the teeth and the gums pushed back, thus reducing the probability of a sore mouth. They then massage the throat and esophagus as well as add oxygen to the blood stream, which will increase the horse's endurance and air capacity.
